In this project we were told to document our activities over the summer in a concetina sketchbook we had made previously. I had a series of outings to our caravan on the coast, trips to see Wicked and Shakespeare in Love at the theatre, a vintage fair, a picnic in Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and my family holiday to Cyprus. When we came back to college in September we were told to make a set based on our sketchbook and what we did over the summer.
We were given a board to work on which would then be put up against the wall in the induction exhibition, we were also told to include 3D elements. I wallpapered my board using leftover wallpaper from my house to symbolise my trips from home. I made a window frame and painted a view from Cyprus to put behind it to symbolise our holiday. I then repainted a chest of drawers I had to match the wallpaper then stuck family photos from Cyprus on the sides. In the drawers I put a range of props to symbolise my other trips; a scarf and dress I brought from the vintage fair, a picnic blanket from my trip to YSP, a makeup box with assorted makeup and backstage photos to symbolise Wicked, and an aged script and quill and inkpot to represent Shakespeare in Love.
